Although times may be uncertain,
one thing will remain true -
there is power among people and there is power in an Agnostic Agile Mindset.
Agnostic Agile is launching #AAConf, a global, online conference that will run
through Asia Pacific, EMEA and the Americas. The theme for #AAConf 2020 is
Business Agility.
Since its launch in 2017, Agnostic Agile has had an organic growth to ~2500 signed people worldwide. We are at the tipping point in the Agile Industry, where employing an agnostic mindset towards agility is becoming more and more commonplace, and Business Agility is recognised as one of the most important facets of work.
"As experienced agile practitioners and as people responsible for agile change and transformation, we should recognise the importance of being agnostic with agility at any level. This means one size does not fit all, one framework is not the answer, and the 'what' and 'how' should be suited to customer context and to a wider strategic vision."

Business Agility is on the table in a lot of companies. Strange it is only happening the last couple of years, Agility only has corporate benefits when you do it all together and not just IT. On top of this, companies who want that transformation, struggle to become Agile. What is needed to make that change and btw, what does the Agile domain have to offer? Arie’s answer has always been agnostic, even in his delivery projects before writing the Agile Manifesto. He will take you on his journey and point out how Agnostic Agile helps him and how he mixes practices from various methodologies depending on the needs of the team.

Agnostic Agile started almost 4 years ago, and yet it is only now we’re seeing the industry explicitly move towards the idea of Agnostic Agile, both commercially and intuitively. It is more accepted now than it ever was before. But what lies beyond Agnostic Agile? What lies beyond frameworks, ways of working and agile change and transformations? Sam will take you through a brief history of Agnostic Agile and then talk about what some of the answers to these questions could be, and why it is YOU that matters more than anything in any agile endeavour or corporation.
Agile has 'taken the world by storm' over the last 5 years,
despite being 'coined' close to 20 years ago. It has been rebranded,
certified, dumbed down and become a goal in its own right. This is
particularly prevalent when the 'Agile industrial complex' [Fowler]
redefines terms so that they lose their meaning and the intent of what
Agile is for.
Agile's original intent was to help people to focus on delivering
business outcomes.
If we look over the year that has been 2020, it is clear that agile
'mindset' and agile methods simply aren't enough. It is clear that the
methodology dogma between scaling frameworks and certification bodies
are simply irrelevant to people who aren't self confessed experts. The
blame game in agile only demonstrates that the system is at odds with
the people working in it.
So where can we go from here? What practical steps can we take to make
things better for everyone in a world of agile change and delivery? Join
Peter as he takes us through some of these questions.

COVID-19 has taught us how Agile our businesses need to be. Business needs to test whether their strategy is still valid and how the rest of the business will operate. Natasia will unpack what Business Continuity looks like during and post COVID-19. She will delve into those critical business areas that have to be Agile without question and help being a new way of developing projects for swift implementation

How to coexist with anti-agile people? If you are at this conference, you already know the value of being agnostic in terms of methodologies and the importance of adapting practices to client needs. Now, there are people who test our patience and flexibility, who insist on using Gantt charts, hiding information, hoarding power, maintaining the status-quo, ignoring digital Darwinism... thanks to them I have reflected on my own limits and discovered some ways to work as a team with those who think differently.
Agile has become too complicated, and stays too specialized. Agile manifesto co-creator Dr. Alistair Cockburn simplified it in 2015 to just four elements: collaborate, deliver, reflect, and improve. These four elements not only capture the essence of the original manifesto, but also allows people with any type of initiative to get the benefits of the agile way of working. Today, this generic form of agile is being used in social impact projects, in schools, in raising families, and of course, in companies. Strangely, these four words make the entry into the agile world simpler, more powerful and more widely applicable.
After twenty years of the writing of the Agile Manifesto and all the accumulated experience, it was seen that Agile is not only the implementation of a set of tools, but a change of paradigm that should lead us to permanent adaptation to a changing reality through an attitude of reflection and continuous improvement. The simplicity of a set of techniques often does not allow us to see the complexity is hidden and that we must manage to achieve the expected agility.
Our speakers are the very essence of agility and agile transformation.

#AAConf 2020 takes place across three different timezones, and the conference is bound
together by the same theme - Business Agility.
Agile hasn't been solely about software for a long time now, yet only recently has the
sleeping giant that is Business Agility woken up, rubbed the sleep from its eyes and is
moving towards complex organisations that are in need of nimbleness for their very
survival.
#AAConf 2020 doesn't just contain useful and practical information that may
help you in your professional work, many of its speakers are thought-leaders in the
field and want to take you on a journey of discovery - inspiring you to imagine what
things could be like.
What does a utopian agile universe actually look like? What does it feel like? What
would you see if you walked into a company that has high levels of business agility?
We want to inspire you to think, to imagine and to connect with the speakers and with
each other.
Great moments and awesome experiences from previous conferences.
